BUILDINGS

A BUILDING IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE CREATURES INHABITING IT.

Angel Temples

Stone and blood

Magnificent buildings made of marble and gold. This is how a limited hunchbacked field worker with rotten teeth imagines the buildings that should be built to honor angels. They only think so because the aristocrats have planted this idea in their heads. Because they give them the fear of sin and eternal hellfire by tolling the bells every morning.

Aren't they wonderful? Are they not sublime? They are a testimony to man's creative capacity. They are a sign of ingenuity and perseverance. Radiantly bright, monuments of awe. Mirror-smooth floors and light that tells of the heroic deeds of bygone eras through colorful windows.

And underneath? In the catacombs? Here, too, a testimony to ingenuity. Torture chambers in which heretics are mutilated and their "dark secrets", which never existed, are elicited from them. And their blood splashes against the walls, the earth absorbs it and soaks the flowers that sprout around the temples.

Wood and iron

Every foundation of a Demonic Temple was a sacred tree. It was shaped and cut, carved and pierced with iron in endless agony until it fell into place. Built not for demons, but against the might of angels. The monsters from the deep used these monstrosities of buildings as bulwarks against attacks from the skies, against acid rain and the rays of the gods.

Filthy silver arbalests that shred the golden armor of angels as easily as clouds. Equipment for those whom fear of angels has encouraged to fight back. Monotonous voices that whisper incessantly, calling the curious people from the villages into the arms of devils.

The enslaved trees that form the core of the temples drive their roots deep into the ground. Not to feed themselves, because an undead no longer needs food. The roots serve as signposts: from the depths of hell up to the light of day.

DEMON TEMPLES

CITADELS

monster's scourge

In the halls, fires, tables full of roasted meat, beer that encourages the appetite for battle. In the chambers, armor, temporarily discarded. In the catacombs, books full of magical spells and war strategy.

In the courtyards, horses, gallows, pyres. Protected by hewn stone and iron gates. Walls studded with protective spells, hardened by absolute war. No monster has the courage to venture near these structures. They are city fortresses of humans and here humans are alone among themselves. A monster can only try to inspire men to leave these walls or burn them down. But should a monster touch these walls, its flesh will fall from its bones.

MARBLE GOLD AND DEATH EIGHTFOLD

Eight towers, each in honor of an angel. Eight curses, eight sins, eight blessings. The 8 is the infinity of heaven, manifested between heaven and earth. This temple is the stairway to heaven where sounds of golden trombones accompany the grinding laborious climb.

PALACE IN THE CLOUDS

PALACE IN THE GROUND

ANGELS DESPAIR

A pyramid, buried deep in the ground. A threshold into the abyss with no hope of return. A construction of wood, iron, flesh and bone for the glory of the creatures of chaos. The highway to hell on which hooves clatter and souls of fallen saints nailed to crosses line the way.
