COINS

Oh, look at the creatures that populate the heavens, hell, the pit we know as "earth". Hard as stone and steel, are the monsters of heaven and hell, and the mere man, a sack filled with water, tears as quickly as a piece of wet parchment.

But as different as these creatures are in shape, race and origin, they all mine for precious metals, jewels and gemstones. For all "evolved" creatures are united by one important characteristic, a mortal sin that makes demons forge weapons from silver to shatter the armor of angels, that makes angels build golden palaces, a characteristic that sends the poor man to his damp grave with only copper coins for the ferryman on his eyes and an urge that plants the idea in the minds of pharaohs to buy their way into paradise with tons of gold and trinkets.
This characteristic is called: "Greed."

Goat and pig, chicken and goose, these underdeveloped creatures do not know greed. They stop eating when they have had enough. That's why the evolved creatures help them out and fatten them up. With too much food in their troughs and sticks down their throats. Humans fatten up animals and monsters fatten up humans. And steal not only meat and bones, but also all the riches they have accumulated in the course of their lives.

And so we search, we dig, we mine, we smelt, we refine and we mint. So that a monster can eat our flesh from a golden plate.

Realm-minted coins

It often only takes a small amount of coins to change the course of history. Often an amount of coin is nothing more than a subterfuge. Because Judas wanted to get rid of the Nazarene anyway, whether for 3, 30 or 3000 pieces of silver. Just a facade, just a constructed reason, just to blame Mammon. These were stolen by an angel from a demon and made the martyr's death and thus the forgiveness of sins possible in the first place. Realm minted coins buy temples, faith, armies. They are an investment in souls, torn screaming from the flesh and then gliding free in the realms, like ethereal gems.

Might Coins

Love and hate are just as far apart as power and the fall. The coins that represent this are not currency. They are worthless and at the same time the most valuable thing there is. If a monster wears a insignia, a monster level rises, it gains the right to unite more people and souls in its army and to carry more artifacts. For nowhere is a mythical weapon and a huge army more wasted than in the trembling hands of an incompetent.

Action coins

Every army, every monster, every champion, no matter how powerful, has limited resources. Temples, faith and various resources increase the scope for action. And sometimes you want to act when your opponent least expects it. With more and more power, actions can be shifted, even into the actions of the opponent.

In every war, strategists try to use their art to perfection. Mystical wars, however, are unforeseen. Often unpredictable forces throw their weight into play and must be balanced by a weapon capable of turning the wheel of time. One of these weapons is the "Obol". A magical crest that can be used to modify quests or reroll the dice of battle. A player who still has an Obol has not yet failed.

Hourglasses of Armageddon

Reality is a fragile entity. Monsters that penetrate the barrier between the realms and the Pit destabilize the fabric of our reality. Warlords, demagogues, cult leaders, politicians and conspiracy theorists profit from the weakening of the fabric of which reality is made.
When everything collapses, Armageddon will come: the extinction of all human life. The reset to zero. The showdown between the most powerful monsters for the last remnants of the remaining souls.

DICE

Twelve-sided dice show the fate of humans. Monsters have fewer options, as "empathy" is not part of their "repertoire". Therefore, an eight-sided die shows the fate of monsters.
