I think I had a breakthrough for the final card design. After talking to a friend of mine who studied design, I started to rework the design of all the cards I had made so far. That's almost 500 different cards now. I think that I will need about 6 weeks for this work if I work 14 hours a day.
Well then... lets go!
(The heat outside made me lose my beard. Now everyone says I look like a motorcycle cop.)
RESSOURCE DECK TUCK BOX
In between I also work on small adjustments to the poker deck. The cards are really nice and look very professional I think... In any case they look like you could buy them in a store :D
I'm also working on the tuck box. After all, you need a box for the finished product in which the cards can feel at home. I had a test print made at a copy-shop to better judge the quality of the final print. I print at home only with a color laser printer for 80€ :D
This month I am just dressing old cards in a new garment, so there are not so many photos this month. It’s very exhausting and I work like a “human Script”.
NOT MUCH TIME THIS MONTH WITH ALL THE WORK...
...but my friend Stefen was there for a test game and I think he had a lot of fun with all the new stuff. He hadn't seen the changes for months and was surprised what had happened during the last months.
He told me: "Every time I play it, I wonder what else he wants to change because it already feels like a finished product. But then I come back and it plays even better and more logical!"
TUCK BOX & PLAYTEST
It is actually a needless thing to do, but maybe not?
I needed this tuck box to finish the poker/ressource deck in my head. It is closure now. It will be that one now.
SOMETIMES YOU'RE LUCKY...
...and sometimes you are not. The cards came damaged from the manufacturer and they where not pretty but usable. Then i decided i dont like that back. Sometimes you realize that only when you see the stuff printed. It looked so much better on screen and in my head.
"PROFESSIONAL" TEST PRINTS
I had some more prints made by a company, but they were pretty much a failure. Apparently the cards were cut with a blunt knife and the corners and edges are pretty "frayed". Otherwise the print looks quite ok. I hope this company (from Germany) will correct this mistake. Normally the company delivers a very high standard of playing-cards.
Thanks for reading... The "design script" is now going back to work. Maybe I can get the job done by the end of next month! :D
